‘A Taste of Europe’

Now taking orders for our Pop Up Bakery

Wednesday, April 8th and

Saturday, April 11th!

Dear Friends,

Let me begin by saying that I hope all of you are safe and healthy.

April 1st is no ordinary day for us.  That is the day in 1995 that Doris and I opened Mozart’s doors for the very first time and realized our dream of opening our own bakery.  We had just come to Columbus from Austria, bringing with us little more than our dreams, our education, and our ambition. We could hardly have imagined on that day how over the next 25 years Clintonville would truly become our home; the place where we built our business and raised our family.

This is a milestone that we have been eagerly anticipating.  Though this is certainly not how we imagined marking our 25th anniversary, we are incredibly grateful for the continued outpouring of support that we have received from our community.

Most of you know that Mozart’s is a small family-run business in a big building.  Through these 25 years we’ve seen many challenges from 9/11 to the 2008 financial crisis, but we’ve always resolved to work harder and overcome these obstacles. The last few weeks have been incredibly challenging for us.  The safety of our guests and employees was our greatest concern and we made the difficult decision to temporarily close our doors.

You can take a man out of his business, but you can’t take the business out of a man.  Despite our closure, Doris and I decided to open a weekly Pop Up Bakery to do what we can to save this historic building and our business.  I’m grateful for the outpouring of support for the Pop Up Bakery, online gift card sales, and future bookings from our patrons who understand the tough predicament that Mozart’s is in.  We are thankful for the groups that have worked with us to postpone and reschedule weddings, showers, fundraisers and other gatherings.

Doris and I, along with our awesome employees, have poured our hearts into this business.  With your support, Mozart’s has grown from a small European pastry shop to a full-service restaurant, and finally a catering and events space.  We are proud to offer our neighborhood a place to come together, whether it be simply meeting with a friend for coffee or celebrating a wedding.  Giving back to our community has been a cornerstone of our business.  We’ve hosted many fundraisers and worked diligently to support the nonprofits, schools, and other organizations that help to keep our community strong.

Doris and I are so grateful for your business and support through the years.  It has been an incredible journey.  25 years and we are still going strong.  We look forward to serving you for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Anand Saha
