Doris and Anand Saha are excited to announce the introduction of the Young Mozart Scholarship. The annual scholarship will award three elementary or middle school students with a $1000 scholarship to help pay for music lessons, instruments, or other necessities that might otherwise be out of reach. Scholarship winners will also be invited to perform at our annual Mozart Festival and Birthday Celebration held each January in honor of our namesake, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Additional details and application information will be released on our website in the coming weeks.
Anand and Doris Saha are proud to be honored with the 2016 Ohio Made ‘Community Champion’ Award presented by the Ohio Creative Collective. Mozart’s is proud to be a part of the Clintonville community. The Sahas have lived in the Clintonville area since 1995 when they moved to the U.S. from Austria. We are proud to be involved in our community. MILLION LEGO FOR KIDS
Children are very important to the Saha family. We are always seeking ways to help children who are underprivileged or disadvantaged, and so our owner Anand Saha is proud to be the founder of Million LEGO for Kids. This group is dedicated to providing LEGO bricks for children’s centers that serve underprivileged populations. LEGO bricks, which introduce children to engineering and physics and help them develop math, patterning and spatial reasoning skills in an addictively fun context.
Million LEGO for Kids recently began a collaboration with Columbus City Schools to pilot a new program, Million LEGO® for Kids Design Challenge, for students in grades K-2. This teacher-designed program will help young children learn to identify problems, think through potential solutions, decide on a plan of action, then evaluate their efforts at the end of the project. This program will be hands-on, minds-on from beginning to end, because that’s how children learn best!
Donations of new and gently used LEGO bricks can be dropped off Mozart’s or any Columbus KEMBA Credit Union location. Check out Columbus Underground’s great coverage of Million LEGO for Kids, as well as coverage in ThisWeek News! If you would like to support this cause, please visit the Million LEGO for Kids website.
